Computer science grads are in great demand in Canada as well as south of the border in the United States of America. Some top universities claim that up to 95% of the grads are hired within a year after completion. Most of the entry salaries for computer science graduates have risen to about $60,000-$80,000 depending on the field of specialization, and even more if you get an IT job in the US.
The ranking for top computer science programs at Canadian universities were conducted by World Report US News.
World Report US News have used 13 indicators to rate the best schools out of 1,500 schools in the world. The indicators and the weight of importance were: Global research reputation (12.5%), Regional research reputation (12.5%), Publications (10%), Books (2.5%) , Conferences (2.5%), Normalized citation impact (10%), Total citations (7.5%), Number of publications that are among the 10% most cited (12.5%), Percentage of total publications that are among the 10% most cited (10%), International collaboration – relative to country (5%), International collaboration (5%), Number of highly cited papers that are among the top 1% most cited in their respective field (5%), Percentage of total publications that are among the top 1% most highly cited papers (5%).
